TESDA X Regional Office, Cagayan de Oro City – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region 10 in partnership with the Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) associations in the region, will hold a Regional TVET Conference on March 27, 2019 at the N Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
The purpose is to ensure that the new strategic goals, programs and policies of the Agency, under the leadership of Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña, is cascaded and understood by the TVET implementers and stakeholders in the region. Likewise, it seeks to address emerging issues affecting TVET programs implementation and to link more government, industry and academe partnerships.
Participants expected in the event are the Presidents/CEOs/Administrators of private and public TVET institutions and other stakeholders.
The Regional Conference is an opportune time to TVET leaders, providers and key players to discuss among themselves inputs and recommendations in better positioning TVET in Northern Mindanao. For the reason that in the next three (3) to five (5) years from now, demand of skilled workers will likely go up to match the number of investments, hence, to anticipate all these, best way is to prepare the TVET stakeholders through this platform.
“We came up with this one considering the challenges, especially on policies and targets set for region 10, and at the same time keeping TVET stakeholders informed and empowered”, said TESDA X Regional Director Tarhata S. Mapandi.
“Bottomline, TESDA abot lahat”, she added, referring to the current slogan of the TESDA. It means to expand and strengthen the Agency’s mandate and services to all, reach out and serve the lower strata of the society to help transform and improve lives for the better through TVET.
